New Insights Into The Autonomic Nervous System

An international conference that will bring forward the latest advances in the understanding of the autonomic nervous system in health and disease, and explore the effects and mechanisms of manual therapy on the autonomic nervous system and non-musculoskeletal disorders.
 
CALL FOR PAPERS

Chiropractors, and other professions worldwide performing research in the neuromusculoskeletal field, are invited to submit original research for platform or poster presentation at the Norwegian Chiropractors’ Association’s 75th Anniversary Conference, to be held October 22 - 23 2010 at Hotel Scandic City, Bergen, Norway.
There will be:
• A main award of 2000 €uro for best research paper
• An award of 1000 €uro for the best paper from a clinician in private practice.
• An award of 500 €uro for “Best poster presentation”
• Research papers of high quality and interest will be offered publication in The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics.

Research of special interest for this congress
Any research paper related to chiropractic is welcome. The topic of special interest at this conference is management of non-musculoskeletal disorders and the effects of spinal manipulation therapy on the autonomic nervous system.

Deadline for submissions
May 31st 2010. The acceptance or rejection of a submission will be communicated no later than July 1st 2010. See “Awards” below.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSIONS
Submissions must be written in English and they will only be accepted by e-mail. See below for instructions.

Categories of Research
Submissions should fit one of the following categories:

Basic Sciences: Includes the use of animals and computer-related research or investigation on cadavers, in fields such as physiology, biomechanics, neurophysiology, biochemistry, immunology, etc.

Diagnostic Sciences: Includes the evaluation of various diagnostic or analytical methods or instruments. Where new concepts are presented there should be accompanying data collection on normal and abnormal populations of patients.

Clinical Management: Includes clinical trials, retrospective studies and multiple case studies. The presentation of new adjusting/manipulation methods are encouraged but such presentations should include some clinical data collection on why the techniques should be considered.

Special Interest: Papers on epidemiology, cost of care, standards of care and educational methods fall into this category.

Awards
Authors of submissions by May 31st, 2010, and on submission of final papers by August 31st 2010, will be eligible for the awards.

Use the form attached to email your submission directly to the Scientific Committee. Please remember that you must submit your abstract by e-mail (sc2010@kiropraktikk.no) no later than May 31, 2010.

Please type your submission in 12 point Times New Roman font, double-spaced. Title of the presentation should be in title case only. (This means that only the first letters of the words in your title are to be in uppercase.) Please list all authors, including degree(s), institutions/organizations, and contact information. Please note which of the authors will be the presenter. Submissions should be a maximum of 500 words (not including title or references) in length. If you consider references to be necessary for your abstract, please submit a maximum of five (5) references only.
Please use the following headings in your abstract: Objective, Method, Results, and Conclusion. Mail it as an attachment, together with the submission form below, to sc2010@kiropraktikk.no
